The concept of 1812 and Heilige's Debut LP

Yes, I'm finally recording my first full length LP.

Heilige is a one-woman show hailing from the evil midwest. With influences from black metal to folk, heilige writes songs from the heart. Heilige's inspirations include history, old religious practices, witch hunting, and love in all the wrong places.

As far as a concept for 1812, some adjectives that come to mind are:
- dark
- vintage
- meloncholy
- blood

Color theory suggests the following:
- black
- grey
- tan (think old paper or cardboard)

Possible artwork concepts:
- angels (sad)
- cemetery
- gates/fences
- trees (pine)

Tracklisting:
Songs that could go on the album include:
- Flames of July
- Black Moon
- It's Over
- Burn it all Down
- Name
- War of the Roses
- To the Sky
- Daydream
- 23 Knots
- Karl Von Cosel
- Burned at the Stake
- Empty Hallways

Intro Song: This song needs to be introduced slowly, so the listener doesn't get bombarded when they first turn on the record. Recommendation is "To the Sky."  It has a quiet intro and slows down at the end.

2: The slow outro of "To the Sky" will blend well with "Black Moon," which has more of an abrupt intro.

Outro Song: A song that "wraps up the album." My recommendation is "Flames of July." The song is powerful, moving, and has a very strong ending.  The last couple bars are actually going to be instrumental and simple, which would allow the user to loop back to the intro song without any abruptness.

Songs I'm really psyched about including:
-Flames of July
-Burn it all Down
-To the Sky
-Black Moon

These are my "big ticket" songs...the songs I really want people to hear.

One thought: break the LP into sections, with one of the previous stated tracks encompassing a "mini theme" of sorts of 2-3 songs.

Ex. Flames of July is about acknowledging the end of something...so "It's Over" "Karl Von Cosel" and "Burned at the Stake" would be good options.

"To the Sky" is about revenge.

"Burn it all Down" is about new beginnings/hope. War of the roses, Daydream, 23 Knots are of similar theme.

Suggested Track Listing (would like to keep it to 9 tracks):
To the Sky (E G A)
Black Moon (Am C G)
Burn it all Down (G F# D)
Name (B G# D#)
Daydream (C G Am G)
War of the Roses (B Am E)
Empty Hallways  (Am E)

It's Over (C B A)
Flames of July (A D F# B)

- Flames of July
- Black Moon
- It's Over
- Burn it all Down
- Name
- War of the Roses
- To the Sky
- Daydream
- 23 Knots (possible cut - too long?)
- Karl Von Cosel (possible cut - doesn't go with other songs as easily)
- Burned at the Stake (possible cut - sounds more like KVC)
- Empty Hallways
